Graphite pencil is the first media that I leaned to manipulate properly, as an artist... as a result, I am most confident in this media. I find it relaxing to spend the time carefully blending shades and 'nitpicking' over small details.
Yet, the familiarity that I have working with pencil is, for me, not as artistically satisfying as working with other media. In order to keep my work from becoming stagnant, most recently, I have been exploring the contrast between high realism and larger areas of flat colour.
