The Sketchbook Project
The Sketchbook Project is based on the premise that there isn’t enough gallery space to allow all artists who would like to show their work the opportunity to do so. Sketchbooks are smaller, more easily stored than large paintings, and much easier to transport.
As a participant in The Sketchbook Project, I paid a fee, had a sketchbook sent to me, and my job was to fill all 32 pages with my art. Then, I sent it back and my sketchbook was digitized in the online collection before becoming part of a travelling library of art. When the exhibition finishes, my sketchbook will become permanent part of the Brooklyn Art Library in New York..
I had a great time creating my sketchbook and just as much fun visiting it when the mobile library arrived in Toronto. Below is a collection of photos and links related to my experience.
